Robert co-founded The Dallas Way and currently serves as President; was founding board member of Coalition for Aging, which advocates for 300,000 LGBT seniors throughout North Texas; served as the Grand Marshal for Dallas’ 30th Gay Pride Parade; helped secure Texas’s first LGBTQ+ historical Subject Marker “The Crossroads”, awarded by the Texas Historical Commission; received the "Kuchling Humanitarian Award" from Black Tie Dinner; was named "LGBT Texan of the Year" by the DallasVOICE
